Cattle in fields at Cowclose Farm

Allan and Barbara Campbell welcome you to their 200 years old stone farmhouse which has belonged to their family since 1946. Today Allan and Barbara offer their guests every comfort. Cowclose Barn, which once housed cows, pigs and poultry, has been converted into 2 very comfortable and attractive holiday cottages.

Situated on the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, Cowclose Farm and Barn enjoy lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Within 30 minutes it is possible to drive to a host of attractions including Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall, Bolsover Castle, Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Chesterfield and Sheffield, to name but a few. Alternatively, give the car a rest. Try one of our Walks from the Cottage Door in the unspoiled countryside to The Linacre Valley with its woods and reservoirs (more Walks from the Cottage Door available at the cottage).

In 2008 we completed the conversion of Cowclose Barn to 2 holiday cottages, The Swallows and The Robins. The work was done by local craftsmen to high standards, retaining many original features. The Swallows and The Robins now excel the expectations of visiting families, friends and couples from all over the world. They have gas central heating, double glazing and good insulation, making them welcoming for out of season breaks.
